Georgia Jagger: the face (and legs) of Versace for spring/summer 2010 campaign

Georgia May Jagger – the youngest daughter of Mick Jagger and Jerry Hall – has just been announced as the new face of Versace’s spring/summer 2010 women’s advertising campaign and, as these Mario Testino campaign shots show, she’s clearly inherited her mother’s pins and her father’s pout. As if being part of rock ‘n’ roll royalty wasn’t enough!

 Autumn/winter 09/10 trends: The 80s and power-dressing

Do Dynasty and Dallas-style fashions and you won’t go far wrong – autumn/winter 09/10 is all about the return of the power-dresser (… and why not? We’re all for a bit of power in uncertain times). Shoulders are totally super-sized, rounded or architectural, hair is big and bouffant, and just about everything else is OTT and inspired by the era of dear old Maggie Thatcher.

Here’s our pick of some of the 80s and power-dressing staples currently on the high street.

Autumn/winter 09/10 trends Dorothy Perkins 80s
Cobalt asymmetric dress, £35, at Dorothy Perkins.

Autumn/winter 09/10 trends Topshop Blazer 80s
Wool mix blazer by Boutique, £95, at Topshop.

Autumn/winter 09/10 trends Full Circle ASOS.com 80s
Full Circle shoulder detail top, £65, at ASOS.com.

Autumn/winter 09/10 trends Boots Elnett Hairspray 80s
… and for big, big hair – L’Oreal Elnett satin supreme hold hairspray, £5.67, at Boots.

Fast facts
80s and power-dressing influences were seen on the catwalks of: Marc Jacobs, Giorgio Armani, Julien Macdonald, Gucci, Stella McCartney, Victoria Beckham, Balmain, Zac Posen, Nicole Farhi, Prada, Dolce & Gabbana, Julien Macdonald, Jaeger London, Marchesa, Versace, Chloe. (Basically everywhere… especially the exaggerate shoulders.)

Top tip: If you’re going all out for bold shoulders keep the rest of your look streamlined and simple.

 Barbie’s designer collections

Barbie New York Fashion Week 50 Birthday
Featuring uber-designers like Dior, Versace, Oscar de la Renta and Givenchy, Barbie’s wardrobe takes some beating and it’s about to get even more glamorous. To mark the 11 1/2-inch style icon’s 50th birthday, the doll’s manufacturer have decided to max-out on luxury fashion with a series of events and partnerships. First up will be a full-scale Barbie fashion show (to be staged during New York Fashion Week in February) with 50 designers creating life-sized outfits inspired by the doll. Christian Louboutin has confirmed that he will be designing pink pumps and Wang has put her genius into the designing of a Barbie wedding gown, with a sale price expected to exceed US$15,000. 2009 will also see the launch of a range of Barbie beauty products, so watch out for ‘Plastic Smooth’ skincare and ‘All Doll’d Up’ cosmetics. If only turning 50 were as fabulous for us mere mortals…

 Kate, is that you?

Versace Kate Moss
Ooh la la Moss… Versace’s new ad campaign starring the lovely Kate (and Gisele) shows some serious airbrush action. Croydon’s best export is barely recognisable – especially in the middle shot – don’t ya think?!
