StyleJunkee is loving next season’s trend for butterflys on bags.

This Jimmy Choo patent bag is retro-modern and great for glaming up a simple black shift dress. £1,095 at Net-a-porter.com

… Or, for something a little more budget-conscious, but still designer, try this taupe chain twist shoulder bag. Pair with a cosy grey jumper dress. £60 by Matthew Williamson for Debenhams.

Temperley has always been a favourite at London Fashion Week and the designer’s S/S 09 collection was a triumphant success, showing maturity and glamour. Art deco prints and accessories mixed playfully with asymmetric silk evening gowns and the overall effect was pitched as a romantic odyssey. The audience was just about as star-studded as you could get: Emilia Fox, Laura Bailey, Rosamund Pike, Jacquetta Wheeler, Mischa Barton and Nick Rhodes, to name-drop but a few.

Kate Middleton’s fave designer Issa has come up trumps with a gorgeous new autumn/winter take on the it-dress of the summer - the ‘Lucky’. Worn in white at Wimbledon by Kate, the ‘Lucky’ has achieved cult status, having also been seen on Scarlett Johansson, Hilary Swank and Kristin Davis. Issa Lucky dress, £280, from Net-a-Porter.

The ultimate it bag of the moment is the Fendi Doctor Buckle Tote. I love the cool mint green colour – although it does also come in chocolate brown, which is probably a tad more practical. It’s large enough to house all your essential bits and bobs for the daytime but not too large that it’ll swamp your outfit. £680 at Net-a-Porter.

These lush gold Marc by Marc Jacobs boots are screaming buy me, buy me. And, as Kills’ singer Alison Mosshart showed when she was snapped wearing them to a recent gig, they definitely do the business (which in Mosshart’s case is glamming up what is otherwise a rather dull rock chick outfit). They’re a bit 80s me thinks - I’m sure I was wearing the same style, only in black, in my younger days - but I’m all for a bit of retro, especially if it’s by his worshipful, the prince of American fashion: Marc Jacobs. £335 at Net-a-Porter.

Treasures by Erickson Beamon are about to become a tad more affordable for us mere mortals with the launch of an exclusive new collection. The cult couture jewellers have linked up with high street store Urban Outfitters and the result is, according to Vogue.com, a “highly colourful range of kitsch and covetable pieces”. Sounds lush me thinks… Going in store from the end of this month, prices will range from £88 to £288, and the sparkling offerings are bound to be quirky and fun as well as suitably glam. The earrings pictured are £245 from Erickson Beamon’s collection at Net-a-Porter.

Anyone if the fashion-know will tell you that the latest must-buy is the lantern skirt. And if that means nothing to you… think high waist, pouffy on the hips, knee length and bob’s your uncle. It may sound unbelievably unflattering but these statement skirts are, in fact, addictive. OK, so we know they’re quite kooky, but they’re also feminine and curve accentuating. Above is a rather spenny version by Roland Mouret from Net-a-Porter (£615 worth of spenny to be precise), and a £65 jobby from Warehouse
