Word has it that the recently launched site - Net-a-porter.com’s little sister - is going down like a treat, with much of the initial stock selling like the hottest of hot cakes. It seems chic-onomics retail therapy is ruling the recession. We’re coveting this rather divine Bay patent leather Chloe bag, £697, reduced from £970.

Seeing Kate Moss looking super-stylish in a bright green maxi dress at the opening of Topshop New York has sent us in maxi-fuelled tizz searching for our faves for the summer season ahead. Top of our wish list is this one-shoulder Philosophy Di Alberta Ferretti colour block dress, £830 from Net-a-porter.com. But for something a bit more credit crunch friendly, this Topshop Richard Nicoll number perfectly exudes designer chic at a lovely jubbly £55 price tag. Both embrace the very ‘now’ trend for colour blocking.

Everybody’s back in the trenches at the moment and Victoria Beckham certainly seems to know how to attract attention in hers. Photographed on her way home from LA last night, Victoria hurried through Heathrow airport in a smart silver trench coat, her trademark oversized sunglasses, a black and white checked bag and grey platform shoes. OK, so maybe we’re a bit Victoria Beckham obsessed at the moment, but, honestly, she does ask for it doesn’t she… To totter through Rome airport t’other day, the style-conscious star chose a pair of 5.5-inch Christian Louboutin ankle boots (and, luckily, a boy on each arm for support). Temperley has always been a favourite at London Fashion Week and the designer’s S/S 09 collection was a triumphant success, showing maturity and glamour. Art deco prints and accessories mixed playfully with asymmetric silk evening gowns and the overall effect was pitched as a romantic odyssey. The audience was just about as star-studded as you could get: Emilia Fox, Laura Bailey, Rosamund Pike, Jacquetta Wheeler, Mischa Barton and Nick Rhodes, to name-drop but a few.

These lush gold Marc by Marc Jacobs boots are screaming buy me, buy me. And, as Kills’ singer Alison Mosshart showed when she was snapped wearing them to a recent gig, they definitely do the business (which in Mosshart’s case is glamming up what is otherwise a rather dull rock chick outfit).
