The second phase of Kate Moss’s SS09 Topshop collection is going on sale in stores tomorrow and from the sneeky previews we’ve seen so far it looks pretty gorgeous. Encapsulating the perfect holiday wardrobe pieces are rich in texture, heavily embellished and exotic-looking. Three main prints feature throughout - ‘blue leopard’, ‘coral zebra’ and ’swirl’ and designs are more sophisticated and chic than Kate’s usual signature playful ditziness. What’s not to lust-after?

Seeing Kate Moss looking super-stylish in a bright green maxi dress at the opening of Topshop New York has sent us in maxi-fuelled tizz searching for our faves for the summer season ahead. Top of our wish list is this one-shoulder Philosophy Di Alberta Ferretti colour block dress, £830 from Net-a-porter.com. But for something a bit more credit crunch friendly, this Topshop Richard Nicoll number perfectly exudes designer chic at a lovely jubbly £55 price tag. Rumours are rife that Girls Aloud star Cheryl Cole is set to follow in the footsteps of Kate Moss by bagging herself her very own Topshop clothing line… Having become a regular on the X-Factor set, Moss has reportedly taken Cole under her wing and is helping negotiate a deal with Topshop mogul Sir Philip Green. According to reports Cole’s foray into high street fashion is likely to happen next year.

So we’ve a credit crunch on the go and apparently it’s now de rigeur to treat oneself to a new lipstick - rather than a posh new outfit, designer handbag or the like. (Sales of lipsticks, and other cosmetics, are often seen as an indicator of economic decline and sales of L’Oreal products are up year on year.) So… I’m thinking if a lipstick is okay as a treat, why not a pair of chandelier earrings as seen on Kate Moss at Leah Wood’s wedding recently? Well you would wouldn’t you?
