This season’s beachwear just got a whole load more glamorous with the news that Giles Deacon is adding LA-inspired bikinis, swimsuits, beach bags, kaftans and flip flops to his already super-cool Gold label line. Available at New Look from next week, Deacon explained in an interview with Vogue that “it was all designed while on a research trip to Los Angeles - by the pool at the Chateau Marmont. For me it’s not so much Eighties-inspired but more a mix of clean lines and graphic boldness with a touch of playfulness.”

The only thank you cards to put pen to paper to this Christmas are Giles Deacon’s new limited edition range for Smythson. Featuring haute couture pen and ink sketches in five designs, the cards come with hand-lined tissue envelopes and will be available in store from 6 January, priced from £37.

The great thing about the range of statement pieces is that it’s completely affordable with prices ranging from as little as £28. Expect funky items with edgy twists like skulls with heart eyes, safety pin necklaces and ring pull rings. Launching this month, the collection is available nationwide at H. Samuels and Littlewoods.
