Floor-length hemlines are a celeb staple this summer as the maxi dress unveils its floaty folds for another season. Here’s our pick of the best of them seen so far, as seen on Cheryl Cole, Keira Knightly, Daisy Lowe and Nicole Richie. Don’t forget to check out our fashion feature on how to wear your maxi dress and where to buy one…
We love that Cheryl Cole has ditched the OTT yellow diamond rock and replaced it with a far more worthy piece of bling, in the form of a custom-made Bex Rox Love Knot.
Ever the style icon, Cheryl Cole has really maxed out on Gothic glamour for the video of her brand new single Parachute. Dancing herself into a frenzy, Cheryl showcases no fewer than four sexy outfits. Fingerless gloves feature heavily, as does the black bodice. Our fave look is the white waist-slashed long-sleeved dress, complete with a head full of curls.
Heavyweight eyebrows are making a comeback and Benefit’s new Brows a-go-go Brow & Eye Shaping Kit is a fool-proof makeup must-have for achieving the look. For dramatic wow factor arches a la Nicola Roberts, Cheryl Cole and Ashley Olsen simply go a couple of shades darker than your hair using the palette’s liner, highlighters and powders. The cute kit even boasts a pair of mini tweezers to grab those stray hairs. £26.50 at ASOS.
As every girl knows it’s the accessories that make the look and Cheryl Cole’s chunky collar necklace – worn by the pop princess last weekend – has the x-factor alright. This version, by Talullah Tu, is both wearable and affordable. £18, at www.talullahtu.co.uk.
We’re seriously loving pop princess Cheryl Cole’s military inspired look in her new video Fight For This Love. Happy days: a chic version of the whole outfit can be snapped up at Dorothy Perkins.
The latest trend for luscious red locks – as spawned by celebs Cheryl Cole and Peaches Geldof – is fast gathering pace as sales of red hair dye in Asda rose by 22% last weekend. Our fave red-head colour for a quick fashion fix is this Colour Performance Burgandy Red, £2.19 at Superdrug.
Headbands are a great way to transform your look. A big fave of the fashionista celebs, they’ve been seen decorating the lovely barnets of everyone from Sienna Miller to Cheryl Cole. Topshop’s skinny sequin headbands – £6 for a pack of two – will see you through to next season and be perfect for autumn/winter’s sequin and sparkle trend.
Tulip dresses are oh-so-this-season and Cheryl Cole’s hot pink X-Factor number is bang on trend. Hers is by up-and-coming designer Krystof Strozyna and probably rather spenny to boot… Luckily for us Lipsy have come up with this very cute and totally wearable high street version. £60 at Lipsy.co.uk.
Looking stunning on the cover of the February issue of Vogue magazine, Cheryl Cole reveals in an interview inside the magazine how she struggles to control her weight and how “horrendous” it was when footballer husband Ashley cheated on her. “He’s learning,” she told Vogue. “He has a beautiful soul, he’s a really nice guy and I’m not stupid, you know. I’m really not.”
Read the full interview in the February issue, out on Thursday.
Not only is our Cheryl the nation’s fave X Factor judge but she’s also just been crowned Queen of Heat magazine’s ‘fittest British female celebrity body’ list, and… wait for it… Superdrug’s beauty icon of the year. Bless…
Rumours are rife that Girls Aloud star Cheryl Cole is set to follow in the footsteps of Kate Moss by bagging herself her very own Topshop clothing line… Having become a regular on the X-Factor set, Moss has reportedly taken Cole under her wing and is helping negotiate a deal with Topshop mogul Sir Philip Green. According to reports Cole’s foray into high street fashion is likely to happen next year.
The lovely Cheryl Cole has just been named the UK’s best female style icon by Company magazine, beating Alexa Chung, Coleen McCoughlin and Posh to the title. We are soooo not surprised. Hurrah! We love the petit popstar with her cute dimples and perfect X Factor outfits…
