Check out this English trailer for Coco Avant Chanel - Audrey Tautou’s latest flick. Based on Coco Chanel’s early years, the film hits cinema screens in the UK on 31st July.
We’re loving the look of Chanel’s new limited-edition London Madness collection. Featuring gorgeous red shades of Rouge Allure and Le Vernis, and this Pearly Banner Palette - an ivory, silver and gold highlighter stamped with the Union Jack flag. £52, exclusively at Selfridges in May and then nationwide from July.
This hot red quilted shoulder bag oozes Chanel-style sophistication and looks like it costs far more than its tiny £15 price tag. Available at Littlewoods.
This high street version of the ever-in-fashion Chanel staple is ideal for weekends… Glam it up with vertiginous heels, a figure hugging shift dress, and oodles of chunky gold bangles - the more blinging the better. £25 at Miss Selfridge.
OK, so we know it’s in French but this trailer of the latest film to pay homage to Chanel is still completely and utterly worth checking out. Due to premiere in France on 22 April, there’s still no official UK release date.
Created by fashion photographer Massimo Gammacurta, these designer label lollies come in oodles of scrummy flavours including watermelon, pomegranate, wild cherry, apple and caramel. But best of all is their chic high fashion logo shape. Even if you can afford the real thing they’re lick-tastic essentials.
Actresses Frida Pinto and Sienna Miller were among the bevvy A-list beauties to scoop accolades last night at the star-studded Elle Style Awards. The gorgeous Frida looked fabulous in a black Chanel dress and boho-loving Sienna looked her usual kooky self in a Matthew Williamson ruffle dress and Louis Vuitton blazer.
StyleJunkee is super super super excited about 2009 and for three stonkingly good reasons - Chalayan, Williamson and Chanel:
1) Hussein Chalayan (that’s MBE, twice-crowned British Designer of the Year Hussein Chalayan)’s Design Museum Retrospective (from 22 January). A fashion and style lover’s must-do.
2) The April launch of Matthew Williamson (Red Carpet Designer of the Year)’s capsule collection for high-street fave H&M. Somehow we just know that spring/summer is going to be one long festival of colour and floaty hippy-chic.
3) The upcoming release of not just one but two Chanel biopics. Coco Avant Chanel, starring the very lovely Audrey Tautou and focusing on Coco’s early life… and William Friedkin’s Coco & Igor, about the designer’s relationship with Stravinsky.
No self-respecting make-up junkie should be without a glistening and glinting of gold in their beauty stash, especially since make-up artists swear by the colour for deflecting light and warming up the skin. Chanel has the midas touch with their gorgeous new gold range: Highlighter in Gold Fever, £29; Lip Gloss in Gold Light, £17.50; Gold Fiction Facettes d’Or Nail Colour, £17, available from Chanel.com and Chanel counters in department stores nationwide.
