Hermès fans will love the iconic French brand’s new exhibition Leather Forever, in celebration of their 175th anniversary. Taking place in The Royal Academy Galleries, 6 Burlington Gardens, London, the show traces the label’s most famous and iconic designs from 19th-century saddles and harnesses created for European noblemen to signature high-fashion Birkin bags.

We’re obsessed with NARS nail varnishes at the best of times but this Thakoon for NARS collection marks NARS’s first collaboration with a fashion designer. Benefit have some newbies in town (well almost – they’re heading into stores in June) and they’re so on our wish list. Ciate’s caviar manicure is taking the nail world by storm. As the first of its kind, this 3-dimensional bobbly ‘caviar’-style manicure is brand new and available at Selfridges or at home using an £18 kit. Apparently Sefridges have 14,000 people on the waiting list for the kit, but you can also buy the white – mother of pearl – colour (see below) through Ciate.co.uk. It involves applying tiny pearls over wet polish and the kit comes in three shades, rainbow (pink), black pearls and mother of pearl.

This Saturday sees the opening of the Victoria & Albert’s Ballgowns: British Glamour Since 1950 exhibition. It’s going to be such a treat of a show. Over 60 British-designed gowns will be showcased, dating back to the 1950s, including pieces worm by the Queen Mother, Diana the Princess of Wales, Elizabeth Hurley and Beyoncé. There’ll be dresses worn to events like the British Fashion Awards and the Golden Globes too. We can’t wait to check it out.

Okay, so it’s been around for a wee while now but we just love this L’Odyssée de Cartier fashion film/ad/magical history tour of luxury brand Cartier. And the fact that it has just reached over 15 million views on YouTube surely means it deserves another big shout out. It’s such a work of art. Enjoy!

We’re all about Christian Louboutin at the moment and couldn’t be happier that the Parisian fashion designer has just announced he’ll be branching out into beauty.

Louboutin explained to WWD.com that: “the beauty adventure is a natural extension for someone like me, who likes to empower women. To be a part of creating beauty seems like the right next step.” Empower right away we say. We love the idea of a super-glam Louboutin lippie. What could be more powerful?! According to WWD.com Christian Louboutin Beauté is expected to launch in late 2013 and, in the words of Chairman Robin Burns, “wearing a pair of Christian Louboutin shoes completely transforms a woman and Christian will bring that same transformative quality to women through his beauty products.” Bring. It. On.

We’ve just had a peek at John Lewis’ shiny new Beauty Hall (unveiled yesterday) in Oxford Street and it’s super-sleek and groovy. It’s a gorgeous place to hangout in and a great improvement that really takes the department store into the realms of luxe. And so it should really because the whole refit cost a MASSIVE £7 million for 18,000-square-feet of retail space. Geeze. But it is lush… and the Jo Malone concession is so smart. Plus, there’s the fact that the store has managed to get Burberry (the first concession outside of Harvey Nicks) and Topshop (the only other place to stock their makeup range is Topshop itself), which is pretty cool too. Check it out.

If you haven’t already checked out the Design Museum’s Christian Louboutin retrospective, hotfoot it there toute de suite. It’s fab. Choc full with hundreds of sparkling heels, hanging from fairgound carousels, and beautifully arranged in a faux garden and a room recreating the designer’s studio, there’s more than enough to take you to shoe heaven and back. It’s so inspiring and great to see just how much Monsieur Louboutin has actually achieved over his 20-year career… Oh and watch out for the spooky Dita Von Teese hologram; it’s pretty crazy. Molton Brown has recently launched its first anti-ageing skincare and bodycare range and we’ve been testing it out. We love their shower gels so had high expectations for the new collection. As you can see the packaging looks pretty plain – there seems to be a bit of a trend emerging for basic, clean-looking packaging that’s verging on scientific; take new skincare line Etat Pur for example. The products themselves are described by the brand as “low maintenance, high performance” and we have to agree in terms of those we’ve checked out so far. The Protecting Lip Balm goes on well, stays put for a fair while and isn’t sticky, plus it doesn’t smell; while the Creole Grass Anti-ageing Hydra-creme is luxurious and pampering, making skin feel soft and moisturised to the touch. Whether or not it reduces wrinkles, time will tell. (And for £65 it should certainly do a whole lot of good…) The Kalahari Melon Cleansing Fluid is our least favourite product, mainly due to its consistency, which is runnier than one would expect or wish for. But there are so many more goodies in the line to try, including toner, SPF cream, eye gel, body creme and hand cream, it’s definitely worth a look see.

Actress and environmentalist Alicia Silverstone has teamed up with Juice Beauty – an American cosmetics company that specialises in natural and organic ingredients – to create a collection of five skincare and makeup items.

But rest assured, this is not just some half-hearted attempt to align a famous face with a brand. Alicia actually took part in the product line’s testing process, paying particular attention to assigning it a smell. “This is who I am. This is not just something I’m slapping my name on,” she reassures. “I would never align myself with something that I don’t 100 percent believe in. I think people count on me for that, and I take pride in that.”

And since Juice Beauty does not conduct tests on animals and formulates products without the use of harsh chemicals such as parabens, petroleum, butylene or propylene glycol, PEG, sodium lauryl sulfates, pesticides, phthalates, artificial dyes or synthetic fragrances, so it undoubtedly appeals to her vegan, environmental sensibilities.

Fans of Girls Aloud won’t have long to wait for the band’s rumoured reunion as Cheryl Cole confirmed today – during a Radio 1 interview – that the all-girl group are planning to do “something to celebrate” their tenth anniversary in November. Cheryl was on air to promote her new single, Call My Name, (which can be heard below). The official video will air on VEVO on 2nd May.
