If you haven’t already you simply must check out Celia Birtwell’s brand new collection for Topshop. This is the much loved textile designer and muse of David Hockney’s fourth range for the store and it’s arguably her most refined. Choose from 60s inspired print blouses and dresses, floaty playsuits, glamorous pussy bow blouses and elegant tunic dresses, in sophisticated hues of nude, rose, grey and midnight blue. This Empire dress is perfect for the more ‘grown-up’ fashion follower.

According to reports in The Sun newspaper X-factor singing sensation Leona Lewis is in talks with Topshop head honcho Philip Green about launching her own Topshop clothing line: “Philip and Leona have a dinner booked in later this month,’ an insider reportedly told The Sun.
 “They have fitted it in after he returns from Ibiza and before she heads back to the States. He knows she is emerging into one of the world’s top pop stars and wants to discuss her doing her own Topshop range.” I don’t know about you but I’m wondering who on earth will be next on the celebrity designer/high street collaboration bandwagon!?

I’m lusting after this Tartan Peplum Jacket, £55 at Top Shop. Encapsulating two key looks for autumn/winter - checks and military detailing - it’ll see you through from late summer to late winter and will look great dressed down with jeans and heels or dressed up with a plain tiered mini skirt (another key trend for the coming season). It’s very Vivienne Westwood don’t you think?

Young London designer Danielle Scutt has moved away from the fashion fringes and hit the big time launching a 10-piece denim collection at Top Shop. Available in the Boutique section and in store from 2nd June, the collection will include a high-waisted denim skirt and a cotton bodysuit in a tiger print, alongside skinny jeans and miniskirts. Scutt’s designs have been popular in independent boutiques, and described by WWD as rockabilly-meets-Helmut Newton, it’s clear high street retailer Top Shop felt it was time the designer was made available to a wider audience.
