I’ve never been a big fan of foundation – less is more as far as I’m concerned, and there’s nothing worse than that rather nasty ‘caked on’ effect so many foundations seem to create. Of course I do concede that there are times when blemishes and spots simply cannot be covered by anything else – which is where a light foundation or tinted moisturiser is essential beauty kit. By Terry Light Expert is one of my all-time faves, providing a natural coverage exactly where you need it, sweeping away imperfections and dull skin. Simply dot small amounts where you need it and blend in for a natural coverage. By Terry Light Expert, £38, from Spacenk.co.uk

No self-respecting make-up junkie should be without a glistening and glinting of gold in their beauty stash, especially since make-up artists swear by the colour for deflecting light and warming up the skin. Chanel has the midas touch with their gorgeous new gold range: Highlighter in Gold Fever, £29; Lip Gloss in Gold Light, £17.50; Gold Fiction Facettes d’Or Nail Colour, £17, available from Chanel.com and Chanel counters in department stores nationwide.

Bond Street perfumer Ormonde Jayne is one of the fashion pack’s best kept secrets and the hottest new name in luxury fragrances, bath and body lotions and scented candles. Creator and founder Linda Pilkington (whose perfumery skills are, rather impressively, self-taught) is soon to be opening second boutique in Dubai. StyleJunkee loves the Ormonde scented candle. Each candle has a burning time of over 55 hours and is hand-poured in the perfumery in London.

StyleJunkee’s fave WAG Coleen McLoughlin is clearly keen to keep her post-wedding figure in check having just splashed out on figure-saving products by luxury beauty brand Rodial. Fortunately Rodial’s Boob Job and Tummy Tuck don’t involve the newlywed going anywhere near the surgeon’s knife. Boob Job promises to work with natural fat cells to increase cup size and plump up the decollete area, while Tummy Tuck uses fig extract and neuropeptides to break down fatty cells and boost cell metabolism. Boob Job, £125, and Tummy Tuck, £100, available at Space NK and Rodial.

I love the sound of the Jemma Kidd Make Up School’s four-hour mother and daughter make-up masterclass. What could be better than spending a few hours with mum learning and testing different make-up and face products? Your very own professional make-up artist will be on hand to give advice on which skincare, beauty and make-up products suit your skin type and face shape and then you’ll be treated to tips on how to apply your make-up. Best of all, you’ll go home with a gift bag stuffed full with Jemma Kidd goodies! £200 for a four hour session. For more information and to book see the Jemma Kidd Make Up School website.

Oh Eva, whatever have you done? Hanging out with Vicky Becks has obviously gone to your head!! Gone are those luscious locks in favour of the POB (that’s the Posh bob in case you didn’t already know) - and I’m not convinced it suits either the lovely Longorio’s hair type or face shape… Extensions at the ready!

I’ve just discovered Vaseline’s scrummy cocoa butter range and am completely hooked. The brand’s deep conditioning body lotion and body butter are among the best lower-end priced moisturiser products I’ve come across (and, believe me, I’ve tried a lot). Don’t be fooled into thinking these bronze coloured babies are self-tanners - they’re not - but they do leave the skin glowing, and looking healthier and more radiant. Best of all, the whole range is priced at under £5 so you’ll only need to raid your penny jar to buy them. Available exclusively to Tesco.

These delectable cupcake lipglosses are so cute and, best of all, will do your waistline no harm at all. Rather cleverly, the gloss is contained inside the cake so all you need to do is lift the lid and apply! We at StyleJunkee think they make a great little gift idea for a teenage friend, niece or daughter. Naughty but Nice Lip Gloss, 6-pack, £11.99 from Totally-funky.co.uk

It’s no great surprise to us girlies at StyleJunkee that John Frieda’s Frizz Ease Serum has been named as one of the 10 best cult beauty buys - selling at the pretty impressive rate of 13 per minute in the UK. The product has won accolade after accolade and is a must-have tool transforming curly, unruly hair into tamed luscious locks. It’s fab for controlling that ever so slightly frizzy top layer on newly straightened hair too. £5.95 at Superdrug.

Summer ready svelte bikini-clad bodies require prepping and preening and, in my opinion, when that involves pumping iron at the gym, it’s all a bit dull. Ok… so I may be up for cheating but when there are figure-fixing products to assist with beach body confidence to be had, I’m all for checking them out. The latest ‘cheat’ product to take pride of place on my beauty shelf is Mama Mio’s Shrink To Fit and, shock horror, it actually does work.. According to the jargon on its mighty colourful bottle it’s packed with a revolutionary ingredient called Adiposlim that helps shrink fat cells and prevent new ones forming. Whatever. But seriously though, it does something… and something is surely better than nothing. £45 from Mamamio.com.

Now I love a good rock festival as much as the next person but if there’s one thing I absolutely cannot bear about weekend-long music fests it’s the not being able to wash properly, and worst of all not being able to wash one’s hair at all. Cue weapon of choice - dry shampoo - and, in particular, Toni & Guy’s Model.Me dry shampoo. Simply spritz it on paying close attention to the roots and massage in a little. The result is hair that looks almost as good as if freshly washed. Model.Me Erin Quick Fix Dry Shampoo, £5.49 at Boots.com
