Fiddling about with eyelash curlers every day to try and achieve the illusion of length and curl is just plain irritating… But the answer, it seems, may be just around the corner. A drug developed to treat glaucoma, which was found to have a lash-lengthening side effect, has been granted the license for cosmetic use and could be on sale in the UK next year. Botox injections are now being used to cure ’stilettotarsal’ - a condition caused by years of wearing high heels. Chemicals are injected into the ball of the foot to ease pain in the metatarsal area. Doctors at Birkdale Clinic in Crosby, Merseyside, where the £295 ‘foot filler’ procedure is being carried out, have recently reported a 20% increase in forty-somethings asking for it.
