21-year-old Alexandra Burke has gone from X Factor winner to internationally known pop queen. We caught up with her for a girlie chat about beauty and make-up.

What’s your best beauty tip?
Drink loads of water and always cleanse tone and moisturise.

What make-up item could you not do without?
My Lancome Hypnose mascara.

Talk us through your daily beauty routine?
When I wake up I wash my face and then use a cleanser. I always use an eye cream and a great moisturiser for normal to dry skin. I always allow 10 minutes for my skincare to soak into my skin before applying make-up and I always take my make-up off before bed.

What do you think makes someone beautiful?
A person has to be beautiful on the inside to be truly beautiful.

Who are your beauty icons?
Audrey Hepburn, Naomi Campbell and Nathalie Portman.

What make-up are you wearing today?
Today I’m at a launch event so I’ve had my make-up done by my make-up artist Alex Babsky. He’s done a natural look, sleek and chic. Blusher, mascara and foundation.

What’s your favourite beauty trend at the moment?
Bold and bright colours on my fingers and toes, but with different coloured thumbs.
