The seventies, polka dots galore, Victorian romance, canary yellow, and booze-coloured accessories are the talk of the town for the New York Fashion Week-savvy.
Burgundy, claret and maroon hues festooned the runways of Marc Jacobs, Victoria Beckham (see below) and Tommy Hilfiger, with accessories bearing the brunt of the trend.
Luxe eveningwear wooed the crowd at Marchesa‘s show (see below), with inspiration taken from Charles Dickens’ Miss Havisham – think Victorian-style lace, embroidery and, of course, figure-sucking corsetry, along with an onslaught of 3D-detailing in the form of crystal, stone, lace and pearls.
Spots were practically a disease at Marc Jacobs (see below), with dots of all shapes and sizes adorning dresses, trousers and hoisery here, there and everywhere.
And happy days… the sun was shining around Victoria Beckham‘s collection which featured a healthy ray of show-stopping yellows (see below). (Note the lush boots by Christian Louboutin.)
