Vaseline Sheer Infusion: The biggest breakthrough in body lotion in 10 years or just more marketing hype?

Vaseline’s brand new Sheer Infusion moisturising body lotion range launched with a dramatic sell: its website claims the product range is “the biggest breakthrough in body lotion in 10 years” and that it’s “the only lotion to deliver superior moisture across all layers of the skin.” Sometimes the mind boggles at the stuff these beauty brands come up with! But does it live up to the marketing hype and, anyway, does one really need all layers of the skin moisturised?

StyleJunkee tried the Vitamin Burst lotion… (The range also comes in Botanical Blend and Mineral Renewal). First things first the smell is a bit too powerful and lingering – with a hint of orange, it seems to stay on the skin for hours and is a bit sickly smelling. It isn’t at all greasy though which is a plus, and it does leave the skin feeling silky smooth for pretty much all of the day too. Our top tip: be sure to check you like the smell before popping it in your shopping basket.
